Drake's Bay..

This was one of my favorite days of the summer. My Dad wanted to drive over to Point Reyes, to take us to Drakes Bay Oyster Shack because they are a place he holds close to his heart and they are possibly getting shut down soon (you can learn more about that HERE) and he wanted to share it with us before that happens. The drive over was gorgeous, we drove through Muir Woods to Point Reyes, then on to Drakes Bay.. as we got closer to the bay the fog was so thick we couldn't see the ocean view just to the right of us.. but we knew it was there. Once we got to the oyster shack, it was already closed for the day but we got out and had a look around, soaking in the sounds, the smells, the beauty.. everything was so still and peaceful and with the thick fog... almost apocalyptic. It was as if we were the only people left on earth. We continued on to Drakes Beach, the fog wasn't as thick there but it was just as still and peaceful, and even more beautiful. It was perfect for some soul searching gypsies like us. It was almost like everyone knew we were coming so they just stepped away quietly, letting us have the place to ourselves.. We've had Bryant's ashes with us throughout our journey, and I thought what a perfect place this would be to scatter them and it's a place I would love to have an excuse to come back and visit every summer, but, I couldn't part with them.. so we had our lunch and went home.
