seaside adventure... part three.

Continuing down the PCH, we ended up at a little spot called Nepenthe.. Before we left my Dad had recommended it as it was a place he would visit during his travels up and down the coast... we spent a good portion of our evening there, basking in the most beautiful views while sipping the best Bloody Mary I've ever tasted in my life.
we live in a beautiful world...
 incredible views over the cliff...
ne·pen·the
\nə-ˈpen(t)-thē\
noun

1 :a potion used by the ancients to induce forgetfulness of pain or sorrow
2 :something capable of causing oblivion of grief or suffering
Once we were back on the road we set our sights on The Madonna, only to find out the PCH was CLOSED for roadwork the rest of the night, and the only other route would be to go all the way back to Carmel and take a different highway.. So instead of sleeping in the Morning Star room as we intended, we ended up once again falling asleep on the edge of the world, under a million twinkly stars, with waves crashing below us. It could be worse...

We were happy to have another day to explore, and the Madonna was very understanding and gave us another room for the following evening...
I wanted to cuddle this guy so much...

seaside adventure... part two.

After spending a few days in The Bay Area with my Dad, I continued down the coast with a friend and no set plans other than a reservation for The Morning Star room (named for Venus) at the Madonna Inn, for the following evening. (the very night of the Venus and Jupiter conjunction) We wandered down the coast, taking our time, our first stop being Carmel.. As dusk crept in we found our camping spot, watched the sun set and the fog roll in before falling asleep under the full moon...

It was a quiet and magical morning, I took an early morning drive seeking solitude and absorbing my surroundings before venturing over to The Carmel Mission...
With The Bethlehem Star guiding us... (read about the conjunction of Jupiter and Venus), we headed on towards the Madonna, bearing gifts of  lavender incense for the new baby to come...
