dancing in the soft summer rain....

Lately I have been considering taking a break from photography. Sometimes tragedy hits you so hard, and in the midst of trying to piece your scattered life back together, you reevaluate what really matters to you, struggling to find your purpose in life, asking questions like, "Is what I'm doing really making a difference in the world? Does it matter?" It's funny, our views on what it is that really matter to us isn't it? I guess, for me, what it comes down to is love, I love my family, I love my friends, and among other things, I love photography. If we love someone, or something, completely, wholly, if it moves us, if it compels us to dig deeper inside ourselves, challenges us to explore who we are, drives us to want to do better, to be better, how can that not matter? Yesterday I was reminded of how much I love shooting for myself, it has been too long since I have had the time to photograph, purely for the love of it, soon, that will change..What I've decided is, I'm not going to stop shooting, I'm just going to start shooting more for myself...

I couldn't stop taking pictures even if I tried.
Here is a lovely photo shoot, shot last August, just for me...
